In the fall of 1944, the 19th Army and/or 24th Army fielded a number of zollgrenschutz (border ?) battalions. Is there a specific KSTN for these ?
thanks,

h.Fla.Btl.607
h.Fla.Btl.607 was attached to 19th army during 1944-45. it appears to be a self-propelled unit consisting of 3 Kp., each with 12, 2cm fla. guns.
Is the correct KSTN for this type of unit, 192 ? What about the Btl.HQ ?
thanks,
Mad Dog

Re: Radfahr Brigade Seitz
Maybe another string to tie things together. T311 R141 f7186343 talks about a Marine Rgt. Schulz in Belfort as of Sept 4, composed (?) of Shff.Stm.Abt.18 (~800 men) and other units in transport. Maybe Schulz --> Geiss.

schnelle abt.602 and 608
What KsTN were Schn.Abt.602 and 608 organized under ? From what I can tell these and other schnelle abt (west front 1944) units had 1 Kp mot.inf and 2 or 3 kp. bicycle inf.

Re: My trip to NARA (College Park)
I managed yet another trip, for 5 days. Hopefully I can keep this once-a-year trip going. I wanted to highlight a few new pieces of information. Out of country visitors: bring a passport Personal scanning equipment: no changes - you can still bring your own and use 1 at a time. There is also a new p...

Re: KsTN for Ohren and Magen units
As always, Hero, a most thorough review of the material available. I wonder is there is a section in RH37 that covers these specialized units.

Re: KsTN for Ohren and Magen units
Both you guys have it right. For example, 1224(O) was 4 Kp, each identical.
I have access to Valentin, but it doesnt really go into tactical detail.
thanks,
Tom

Are there any reference texts that describe the action of 2nd SS Pz during the time period of Sept-Nov 1944 ?

Re: KsTN for Ohren and Magen units
Thanks for checking John. About all I can conclude so far is that they seem to have generally been organized into btl. of 4 identical Kp. - at least for the time period of Sept-May 1945 on the west front.

KsTN for Ohren and Magen units
Did Ohren or Magen units have a special KsTN, or did they use the standard KsTN for whatever type of formation they were ?
