I have recently acquired some scanned images of original German reports from 1944. One of them shows the corps troops under LXXXIV.Armee-Korps dated 1.4.44. It shows the following units under z.b.V Rgt 752 (Oberst Kessler):
Georg Btl 797
Ost Btl 281
II./Sich.Rgt.521
Underneath that entry, and I presume not part of z.b.V Rgt 752; there is also II./Sich.Rgt.195
Questions:
1. Does anybody know where these units were stationed?
2. Does anybody know if these units were still under LXXXIV.Armee-Korps command on D-Day?
Thanks,
Neil

Re: LXXXIV CORPS TROOPS
Please see here:
Gen.Kdo. LXXXIV. AK
@ Jan
My sources seem to be incomplete.
Would you be so kind as to answer some questions regarding
Ost-Gren.Reg.z.b.V.752?
-- I found this regiment detached to 243. Infanterie-Division (bo). Any idea when this happened, or how long?
--Ost.Art.Abt.752
Do your sources indicate the batteries and their artillery equipment?
--1.Kp./Pi.Btl.319?
Interesting. Where did this data come from?
Thanks
Leo

Re: LXXXIV CORPS TROOPS
Hello
I know not when the regiment of the 243.Inf.Div. was assumed. This is not shown in my records. When the regiment was subordinated to the Division used in the 243.Inf.Div. many more units still in question.
A breakdown of from later June shows this unit as a Pi.Btl. with 3 companies replaced by a 3 batteries.
On 9 June it was referred to as an Art.Abt... I know not how the Dept. was armed.
I can not say where the information came you. It the attempt of a summary of the outlines of OB West. I gained a few years ago of a 150 page transcript.

Re: LXXXIV CORPS TROOPS
Jan and Leo,
Thanks for your posts. Since I posted my initial query Richard Anderson was kind enough to send me his document on OB West on 1.6.44. That shows the composition of Ost Gren Regt z.b.V 752 as:
II./Sich Regt 521
Ost Btl 635
Ost Btl 797 (Georgian, minus 2. Komp)
1.Pi Btl 319
Thanks,
Neil

Same document, different version and title Jan.Jan wrote:No

It appears that Ost-Gren.-Regt. z.b.V. 752 was created specifically to fill the coastal defenses on the west coast of the Cotentin between the Brest and St. Malo fortified zones. Its composition changed a couple of times and the designations of its units appear to have been given in different ways too, so it is rather confusing.
Ost-Gren.-Regt. z.b.V. 752, Gefechtsstand – Gavray, Kdr.: Oberst Kessler
Ost-Art.-Btl. 752 This is the most confusing unit. It was incorporated into Ost-Gren.-Regt. z.b.V. 752 in April. A Gliderung from later in June shows this unit as a Pi.-Btl. with 3.Kp. replaced by a 3.Bttr. On 9 June it was referred to as an “Art.-Abtl.”
Ost-Pi.-Kp. 752
Sich.-Btl. 521, Gefechtsstand – vicinity Granville, Kdr: Major Franz Falk, 1.-4. Kp.
Ost-Btl. 635, Gefechtsstand – St. Nicolas (east of Granville), 1.Kp. – Douville (northeast of Granville), 2.Kp. – St. Nicolas, 3.Kp. – St. Pair (south of Granville), 4.Kp. – Queron (7 kilometers south of Granville)
Ost-Btl. 797 (Georgiches) (I./Gren.Regt. 739) (minus 2. Kp., the battalion was attached from Inf.-Div. 709), Gefechtsstand – Gouville (12 kilometers northwest of Coutances), 3.Kp. – Montmartin (8 kilometers southwest of Coutances)
1./Pi.-Btl. 319 (was attached from 319. Inf.-Div.)
Cheers!

I bumped into Ost.Art.Abt.752 in a couple of places and I was never sure what to make of it:

T311 R030 (Heeresgroup D)
