Hello to all ; a little story and one request.......................
3 ID – Westfeldzug 1940.
The 3 ID (General Lichel) constituted the right wing of the III the AK (General d. Art Haase) organized in the area of Brandenburgo; also belonged the it, the 23 ID (General der Inf v. Brockdorff-Ahlefeldt). The before mentioned Army Corps was, as well, the extreme Army Corps to right of the 12 AOK (Army) under Generaloberst List.
For the operations to be carried out in order of franking the Mosa River it had foreseen that the 3 ID would cross the river by Nouzonville and the 23 ID would the same by St. Quentin, whereas the XIX AK (Mot) of General Guderian would attack through the water obstacle in Sedán, which was located some 21 kilometers to the south and the 6 Pz within the XXXXI AK (Mot) of General Reinhardt would do it by Monthermé located about 9 kilometers to the north.
Around 11:00 hours the Radfahr schwadron (cyclist Squadron) of the Oberleutnant Eisel reached is the Eastern edge of Nouzonville as the first German troops, reporting the locality was free of enemy.
