Help Identify young man - Waffen-SS?

Hi all. I need some help identifying this soldier. I only know it was taken around 1943-1944.
I'm thankful for any information, depending on person, unit or whatever.

I will make a guess and hope that gets the ball rolling. He looks like a Sturmmann in the 3SS Totenkopf Division. I am probably wrong, but someone who knows more about the Waffen SS will be by shortly to clear things up Best wishes.

I'm going to agree with John. I was wondering at first about the collar insignia, until I thought through it. It might be SS-TV, but I'm not entirely sure.

Its a M36 Tunic, Totenkopf Div, Rottenführer.

Makes me wonder if the foto was indeed taken in 1943-44 as fridgeman says and not (a lot) earlier.
The whole picture has an 'early war' look to it I think. Not exactly an objective observation but that's my general impression anyway.
