7th South African Recce Regiment.
So what do we know about the 7th South African Recce Regiment circa 1941/2?
Thanks. Dave.
The following notes are based on

7th SA AFV Regiment was formed in March 1941 and renamed 7th Reconnaissance Battalion n April 1941. It was assigned to the 2nd SA Division in April 1941 but only joined in August 1941.
It appears that the AFV regiments were all renamed Reconnaissance Battalions or AC Regiments. There is no 7th AC regiment so I am assuming you are referring to the 7th Reconnaissance Battalion
7th Reconnaissance Battalion and 2nd Field Regiment detached to Jarabub to join the Oasis column late Oct. 1941.
(NOT with 2nd SA Division during its assault on Bardia 1/1/42)
Late March 1942 from the Frontier are
Part of 7th Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd SA Division operated in front of Tobruk as part of Seacol 28/5/42
June 21st 1942 7th Reconnaissance Battalion equipped with Marmon-Herrington II armoured cars part of HQ units 2nd SA Division Tobruk.
Surrendered Tobruk
