Hello All,

I have a question that I am unable to find an answer for........ I am researching a German General from WW2 by the name of Karl Hansen... He was a PLM winner in WW1 and his bio shows :

DIED: 01/09/1965 in Meiningen.

In this bio there is a mention of what appears to be Friekorps service :

Commander of the IV. Battalion of the Regiment Stobbe (16/12/1918-01/08/1919).

But I can find no info on this Regiment Stobbe..... where it was assigned.. where it fought etc.. etc.. etc....

Any help will be of emense help !

1st Landesschüzen Bde. (Hankhe), raised Dec. 1918. I Bn from Inf.Regt. 136, II Bn from Inf.Regt. 171 and III Bn from Inf.Regt. 173 all part of XV/XVI Army Corps.
2nd Landesschützen Bde. (Stobbe), raised 18 Dec 1918 mainly from Inf.Regt. 17 of the XXI Army Corps
3rd Landeschützen Bde, raised by parts of 19th, 30th, 34th and 84th Infantry Divisions.
Guards Landesschützen Bde.
Vol.Regt. Magdeburg raised by Inf.Regts. 26 and 66, both with peace time garrison in Magdeburg.
Vol.Bn. Gruson, raised by Inf.Regt. 165 Quedlinburg
Vol.Bn. Altenburg, raised by Inf.Regt. 153 in Altenburg
Vol.Bn. Anhalt, raised by Inf.Regt. 93 in Dessau
The Landesschützenkorps was later formed into the Reichswehr Bde. 4 in Magdeburg.


It's not much, but maybe it'll help in your search.
