Pioneer Equipment

Post by afrika.90light »

Hello All,
I'm painting some pioneers and need some info on equipment painting. The items are as following:
1.Flame thrower: Twin vertical tanks, also the models have some kind of gloves
2.Mines that appear to have handles for carrying
3.A pole device, that looks to be in scale a 5 to 6 foot pole, with a flat topped pyramid shaped device on the end
4.Mine detector that has a square shaped ground scanner
If someone could direct me to some color pictures, it would be of great help. Thanks in advance.

hi william
have a look at the osprey series of books, they have some good books on wehrmacht equipment WW2 their are sections showing great paintings in colour of various equipment uniforms etc there should be one on this subject, my local library has at least 50 various osprey titles, if not you can google 'osprey' you will get their website, and take a look on there.
hope this helps good hunting.?

From some old coloured photos I have seen (awhile back). The twin flamethower tanks were a black or dark metal grey.

I would assume the gloves would be a black leather, though this is only a guess.
