I am moving in with Brandt in Nivna, because Tilian had to leave.

6. September, Wednesday
Birner is coming to the construction site. Schmid has been sick for the last 3 days

7. September, Thursday
Ravonbeim, bridge construction. Major Winkelmuller. Report about the 3rd phase of war, very optimistic and positive. Within the next half year there will be no doubt about the successful outcome of the war

8. September, Friday

9. September, Saturday
To Rava. Birner, Schror, Winkelmuller. Discussion about move to Rava regarding other construction work

10. September, Sunday
“Win” work, south of Rava, pigs sty (a big mess).

11. September, Monday
Move to Rava, even bigger pigs sty

12. September ,Tuesday

13. September, Wednesday
I take the northern part of the project. Schmid in Ossiwice the southern part

Second trench for tanks

Lots of work.

Went to Rogow for clothes. Birner, Schror, Langenbahn come in the evening to visit, Schnapps.

In Wallawieze at H. Reiser regarding the bridges. Nice waitress

21. September, Thursday

22. September, Friday
Every day I at the railroad station to pick up my Poles (Polish work crew). Schenja

23. September, Saturday

24. September, Sunday
Visit at the country estate Bokrzywna. Very nice.

25. September, Monday
We have cigarettes and schnapps as reward for the Poles. They love to drink too.

26. September, Tuesday
Enjoying the sun at noon by the (river) Rawka. Wally is a sweet Polish girl who would follow me anywhere.

27. September, Wednesday
The Poles are going to be housed in the old and new school. Lay doesn’t know how to go about it. We give out numbers. I don’t like it.

28. September, Thursday
Organizing the schools like a refugee camp. The number system doesn’t work

29. September, Friday
We decide to hand out food vouchers, just like I wanted it in the first place.

30. September, Saturday
There is a lot of confusion with the numbers. Br. and Lay don’t want anything to do with it any more.
