The metallic cuff-title referred to in the original question was not worn by Ehrenfuhrer (Honourary Leaders), which were ivory-coloured and bore the title 'Ehrenfuhrer' or other combination, e.g. 'Ehrenfuhrer Sud', in silver thread.
The metallic silver cuff-titles are well-covered in Mollo's and Angolia's books on SS uniforms and insignia. There were five versions of the metallic silver cuff title, and these were worn as follows:
silver, with two thin black border stripes: Reichsfuhrer-SS, Head Office chiefs, and chiefs of the three Main Offices.
silver, with two thick borders stripes and one thin centre stripe: Chiefs of Pricipal Sections under RFSS and three Main Offices.
as above, with two thin centre stripes: Section Chiefs on staff of RFSS and three Main Offices.
as above, with three thin centre stripes: Sub-Section Chiefs on staff of RFSS and three Main Offices.
Other individuals, such as the Party treasurer, apparently, wore the basic cuff-title, even though it did not relate to their positions in the above hierarcharchy. At least one other silver cuff-title existed, silver with a broken black centre line; this was worn by Ribbentrop but its significance is unknown.
