2nd US Ranger Battalion:

Formed 1/Apr/43 at Camp Forest, Tennessee. Embarked at New York for England 23/Nov/43. Landed in France 6/Jun/44, fought in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe campaigns.
