Halbe Question

Is anyone out there working on the Halbe Breakout in 1945? I have plenty of German sources and, since I can't read German, I'd be interested in a friendly collaboration.

Best Regards,
David

I'm not researching it, but I could try to translate it for you.

Hi Baltasar, It' an awful lot of stuff, my friend. Some of it is the result of surfing ebay.de, so I can't vouch for its usefullnes. Let me list some of the things tonight, when I get home from work. I really appreciate the offer and I don't want to abuse it.

Very Best Regards, David

Hi Baltasar, yes, I checked my shelves. It is more than I could reasonably expect a Friend to help with. Just for starters I have:

1. Wilhelm Tieke's "Das Ende Zwischen Oder und Elbe" (Will they never translate this fine book into English???)
2. Gunther Gellerman's "Die Armee Wenck"
3. Richard Lakowski's "Der Kessel von Halbe"
4. Lotha Schultze's "Spurensuche Band 9, Der Kessel Halbe-Baruth-Radeland

I think I went overboard on collecting books and it strikes me as a shame that this battle is fairly well documented in German and essentially overlooked in English.
But, my friend, I appreciate the gracious offer.
Best Regards, David

Well, yes. A few pages or so would be a handable task, but translating several books seems a little too much for a student ;-)

However, I'll stay to my offer anyway if you dig out something smaller.

Thanks Baltasar, I really appreciated the offer. There is something unfortunate in my character that tends to make me "bite off more than I can chew" and I realized it after I posted.

Be Well and Best Regards My Friend,
~David
