Hello everyone; something about............................
Aufklärungsverbände der Luftwaffe - Reconnaissance units of the German Air Force
Long-range reconnaissance.
The long-range reconnaissance aircraft were among the air units that penetrated the enemy's airspace up to the maximum range limit. They carried out, mainly with support of aerial photographs, operational reconnaissance for High Commands, tactical reconnaissance for medium commands and intelligence on the target for attack units. They were assigned, mostly at squadron level (12 aircraft) to the command posts. In 1939 the tactical numbering of the Luftwaffe reconnaissance units was numbered in three digits and lasted until the end of the war. The second number meant long-range reconnaissance. The third number 1 - 4 was the number of the Luftflotte (air fleet), within which the unit operated (the Luftwaffe Command in East Prussia (Ostpreußen) wore the "0"). The first number 1 meant that it was the first group of its kind in the air fleet.
Thus the Aufklärungsgruppe 120 was organized on November 1, 1938 in Neuhausen with a single squadron without unit command. Location in 1939 Neuhausen near Königsberg / East Prussia. During the White Case in 1939, the group flew over northern Poland to the Luftwaffenkommando Ostpreußen (East Prussian Air Force Command) equipped with Do-17. Staka (Staffelkapitän) Major Anton Schub.
