How many in total where captured by the russians? How many are MIA? Total of german death in the russian front

You never will have a good answer
these are the losses on the east front(LW not included,the same for the died of wounds=WIA who died later,sick,etc,also are not included)
1941:KIA :173000 WIA :621000 MIA 36000
1942:KIA 227000 WIA 840000 MIA 52000
1943:KIA:255000 WIA 880000 MIA 332000
1944:KIA 250000 WIA 1.050.000 MIA 700000
There is nothing reliable for 1945
The Soviet figures for 1945 are inflated,because they counted all Germans who became POW at the capitulation
The MIA figures are a mixture of dead,POW and unclarified cases :the Soviet POW figures are not reliable,and,no one knows how much POW were taken,and how much died in custody.
Whatever,on 31 december 1944,the result was:
KIA :900000 (+ an unknown number of DOW,an unkown number of missing,and an unknown number of dead POW)
WIA :3.4 million(minus the DOW)
MIA: 1.1 million (minus the dead MIA and the dead POW)
A lot of POW died in custody after the war (1945-1955)
And,there is no reliable information about the non combat losses =losses by accidents,sickness,etc ...
A guess (but probably wrong) would be 1.5 million dead,without the 1945 losses.

Thanks a lot, very high losses, unsustainable, what about the federal german governments. Have they tried to get more names and statistics from the russians?

I don't know,and,if they did,I think that the Soviet answer was not very cooperative .
OTOH,there is the Maschke committee which is studying this things(more informations on the web)
