I don't understand which sort of units were the LW-Jager-Battalion zbv. Main frontline troops or antiguerrilia ones? And why the zbv? Does anyone have data about their structure?

The z.b.V. was because they were probation units and the actions were a mixture of anti partisan and "normal" combat missions. I was not able to find anything about the exact organisation.

Usually probation units were independent because that lies in the Nature of such Units.

A well known Lw. researcher was of the opinion that in the absence of the KSTN documents, it might be likely that they shared the same structure as Heer zbV units.

Here is some info on the Lw.-Jäger-Btle.

Each had:
Stab - KStN 9311 (L)
Ln.-Zug - KStN 3360 (L) (01.08.1944 in BA-MA RL III/579)
1., 2. and 3. Kp. - KStN 9321 (L)
4. Kp. - KStN 9341 (L)

Unfortunately, the KStN for the Ln.-Zug is the only one that survived the war.

Larry tells me the following:

Smithsonian Institution, National Air and Space Museum (NASM), T-2/USSBS Captured German/Japanese Air Technical Documents (Account No. 0431), Roll 7001, frame 8226.

The 7000-series rolls contain all of the nearly 1,000 surviving Luftwaffe KStNs. The paper originals were all returned to BA-MA Freiburg in the late 1960's and can be found there.
