Does anyone know anything abut the organisation of RASC Field Bakeries, particularly in the 8th Army? I have all the pamphlets, recipes etc. from my grandfather's unit, but I don't know if they were attached to specific brigades, corps or divisions. Unsurprisingly, it's difficult to find information on support troops like this.

Its been my experience that RASC Bakeries were generally regarded as a Corp+ asset or a Divisional asset, and not a Brigade asset.

A good book about the RASC etc is Wait for the Wagon (The Story of the RCT and its Predecessors 1794-1993) Pg107-210 deal with WW2, with the Pg134-154 dealing with the western desert
