von Rohden collection

Post by MadDog »

I am debating getting the von Rohden collection (record group 242, T-971, 8.Abt./Genst.d.Lw.) from NARA, as I am looking for information on the end-state for a number of Luftwaffe ground units.

Does anyone have an opinion on this section:

'1944 – 4376/26
Chief of General Staff/Section 8. (Chef Genst 8. Abt. Commitment and Command
of German Air Force Ground Units during Retgograde Movement in 1944.
(Evaluation of airfields in Russia and retreat from Sicily)."

I am wondering if the film is worth it wrt Lw ground units.

thanks,

I spoke to a former forum member, well known in the Luftwaffe areas but decided to leave this and the AHF site for various reasons, anyway he said the vR collection wasnt very worthwhile. I however found several nuggets when reviewing the rolls at NARA. Its not my money, but I say give it a try.

I have been talking to Larry deZeng, who was done extensive research in the area. Form his description, it sounds like it has what I am looking for, although not much else on my preferred subjects. I will probably end up getting at least Roll#1 in my next purchase cycle.

thanks,
