Dear Mr. Matt,

With wide interest i read your post about Hptm. Hugo Frey who was killed in action on March 6th 1944 near the small village of Erm - Drenthe The Netherlands.
As the Secretary of the Air War Study group Groningen - Drenthe 1940-45 is this part of the war very interesting for me.
If you have interest i can translate and send to you a small report about his crash from the local municipality archive, and i have a photo of Hptm Freys grave
at the war cemetry Ijsselstein The Netherlands. Also we now approximate the crash location of his FW 190 A6.
In May 1995 i had on visit 3 crew members of the B-17 Blitzing Betsy who crashed at a small village called Zwartemeer, This crew members believed that there
B-17 was also hit by Hptm Frey and after hanging on there parachute the pilot saw near him a FW 190 what went down, so we believe it was Hptm Frey.
I hope we can help each other with information, for further more questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

With respect,

Harry Bakker
