Looks like a small insignia/emblem used to adorne WWII-era German photoalbums, usually on the lower right side of the front cover. I've seen many variations, helmets, weapons, helmets with weapons, eagles, oakleaves, etc, etc, etc. I'm of the impression that these items could be purchased seperately by soldiers and used to create their own personalized photoalbums, although I'm sure many photoalbums were bought pre-made was as well.

Ok, thanks. So it isn't sniper-related or is the sign representing the sniper-arm?
