Uniform regulations of Cossacks in the German Army

Post by panzergrenadier »

Greetings!

Doing some research on Cossacks who served in the German military. Is there an online source that details their uniform regulations? What changes, if any, were made to the regulation uniforms of these troops when they came under the SS toward the end of the war? Oh, and one final question: I was reading some of the Cossack troops were sent to France in 1944. Is there any evidence these men engaged the western Allies?

Many Thanks!

Hello Panzergrenadier!

I know that you asked for websites but I will still give you a book recommendation because it's a great oppurtunity to buy a good book, that probably soon will be out of print, to a good price!
The book is "Foreign Legions of the Third Reich - volume 4" by David Littlejohn (1987/1994) which contains a very informative chapter on the Cossacks and their uniform regulations. It's released by Bender publishing for the really low price of $25. See the links...
