Battlefield grave

Post by Nawlins5 »

Hello,

I am trying to locate any pictures that would show a german field grave with a mauser w/bayonet stuck in the ground with a german helmet on top. I am having difficulty locating this on the net. Any links to pics showing this would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Xavier's photos seem to confirm what I suspected - only the Americans were rich enough to be able to afford wasting a rifle by sticking it into the ground to mark a grave. After all, didn't they fly cake across the Atlantic . . . ?

Russians ditto.......... but only because most germans considered the M-Nagant a second rate rifle, on the other hand, any german landser would glady exchange his K98k for a ppsh.......
