Tracing Family History

Post by gsorg »

Hello all

I am looking for information about the military service of my uncles grandparents who served in the German military during WWII. Is there somewhere I can request information?
Any info would be much appreciated.

In letter of my great-grandfather to my grandfather say:

Salem, 25 November 1940

..... Unseren Soldaten geht, es gut Franz ist Gefreiter & Albert Obergefreiter, Albert hast das eiserne Kreuz II kl. & das Panzersturm Abzeichen. Wir sind stolz auf unseren Söhne. .....

I live in Argentina and my Grandfather (brother of Albert & Franz) emigrate to Argentina in the year 1923.

Where I can obtain request the information about the Military Record´s of Franz Sorg (Gefreiter) & Albert Sorg (Obergefreiter), and the Record of the "eiserne Kreuz II kl." award ?.

I have also a letter from Haguenau (25.12.1946) of my uncle grandfather (Franz Sorg) to my grandfather, what Unit possibly Served if it was prisoner in Haguenau?

Thank !

Gustavo Sorg
