By U-Boot I do not know for sure, but the garrison of La Rochelle received a copy by plane (owing to KG 40) as they still had the Laleu airstrip nearby.
It was just a shame that Goebbels cut out more than 30 minutes of the film
including some good detailed battle scenes, costing well over a million RM
in film work. He thought it was too detailed and would effect morale.

Still a great film, although it was a death sentence for the actor Heinrich George
when he fell into Russian hands at the end of the war.

As for the film being sent by plane, I have never heard of that before,
never too old to learn something new, thanks. :[]
