Could be, I would love to see a rear shot of that Vickers! I did not think a Cannuck would recognise a horse, it doesnt have antlers! Phil.

Sorry, it doesn't look like anything like the Vickers, besides the white cross on the turret indicates that this is a german panzer...

Hi,

For the Vickers mark E
Image
So it wasn't a Vickers on your Picture. hard to find the rear view maybe it is because the photographer wasn't in a good shape after having been rolled over by this "light tank"

I dont know, its close. However why would it be in a Heer column advancing into Poland? This photo has perplexed experts! Phil.

Hi Nibelung,

I've seen the white cross on the turret. But I can't find a rear panzer like the one on the picture. Maybe a polish ( I mean from Poland and not a waxed one  ) beute Light tank 7TP. Is there a "Y" on the rear of this tank or it's only a cable ?
What a mess on this tank, there are boxes everywhere.

I think it is indeed a Polish 7TP. Here's a diagram of one with a rear view that matches very well.

The twin turett Mk.E was quite rare. Only 40 in polish service. This is the only picture of this Mk. I've ever seen. Even Spielberger, who has almost all captured vehicles in his book, does not show one.

So much for my german panzer... Well, judging from Ernest's picture this really is the tank were looking for.

Hi,

the next time, the picture showing an unkown tank will have been taken from beneath during the night in a tunnel.

Thank you so much all of you for the input. Nice to hear that it is an unusual & possibly rare photo.
I will however have to rethink something, the picture was in a lot which contained mostly Poland photos. this is maybe France or Russia using a captured vehicle, what do you think?
Would the forum like it if I started posting unusual or scarce all original photos now & again? Best, Phil

I don't think the Mk.e was used outside of poland. The fieldunits used this vehicles until they broke. Then they went scrap metal.
Only vehicle types that where captured in a larger scale (like the single turret 7TP) where used until the spare parts (or vehicles to canibalize) became unavailable.
And even those where mostly used on a local base (i.e. police tank co's). Only captured vehicles from Czechoslovakia and France where used all over the european theatre.
