that must have been terrible, knowing your father is going to be killed or you could end up in a concentration camp. is it true that that officer blaming Rommel on a plot to kill Hitler was lying?

I would imagine that that is true, considering that Rommel had no part(That I know of) in "Operation Valkyrie." The fact that Hitler had Rommel killed is one of the tragic ironies of the war...
