Hallo,

I have found any pictures of my grandfather like this:

Looks like he is from 16. SS-Panzergrenadier-Division Reichsführer-SS; SS-Unterscharführer (Senior-Corporal).

And could that badge be a Wound Badge?

Could be a wound badge, could also be the infantry assault badge - hard to tell.

I kinda did some editing to the image. It looks like a Wound Badge more than anything! Also, weren't Wound Badges more common than any?
