SS og Politikompani

Post by MAXIS »

In Norway during Quisling’s administration were formed four police companies, transferred (except fourth) to Finland under SS division“Nord”.

Do you have details, about origin, personnel, commanders, structure etc?

In the book Flags of the Third Reich 2:Waffen-SS by Brian L. Davis and Malcolm McGregor (Osprey MAA 274), there is mentioned the Politikompaniet (Police Company) which was raised during the summer of 1942. In September the same year, this company under the command of Strumbannführer Jonas Lie was sent to join the rest of the Norwegian Legion outside Leningrad. Later a 2nd, 3rd and 4th Police Company raised the Book doesn't mention any more about these companies other than that they probably recieved colours like the 1st company.
