:?: How can I see if a weapon is a German Mauser or not?I have a weapon,it's a 6.5 cal from 1940.It has a number on it side(E1443).I hope this information can help.

6.5mm was the caliber of the standard Russian rifle, like the one Lee Harvey Oswald had. I think they looked a little like the K98, maybe a little shorter

I know of no standard-issue Russian rifles that used 6.5mm caliber rounds in 1940; their Mosin-Nagants and SVT-40's used 7.62mm.

The Italians used a 6.5mm rifle throughout the war, in the form of the Carcano Model 38. It was a weapon of this type that was supposedly used to assassinate Kennedy.

If I remember right, Sweden used 6,5mm Mausers.
