Greetings everyone!
I have a question which I hope you all could help me with. I am currently in the process of writing a book (a novel about the life of a Panzer-Grenadier) and I considered the possibility of using a couple of images, as in actual pictures of Wehrmacht soldiers, daily life in the Third Reich, etc, and I'm not sure how one would go about it. I understand that many of these images are copyrighted by various museums and national archives and I have no desire to try and find "loopholes" around all that, I want to go about it properly. Would I need to personally contact these places (i.e. the Bundesarchiv, archives.gov, etc) directly and ask for permission or possibly pay them for the use of their images?
Anyways, any help on this would be most appreciated.
Thanks!
