About 35. SS- und Polizei-Grenadier-Division

Why this division of Waffen-SS is not well covered? Looks like there's no book even in German language related to this unit.

Hello SergioDV,
The 35th SS and Police Grenadier Division was formed by the renaming of the SS Police Brigade Wirth in February 1945. The division consisted of the two police regiments zbV (special use) and units of members of the Police Weapons School II Dresden -Hellerau and the SS Junker School Brunswick. They fought against the Russians on the Neisse river, bordering Poland and the Czech Republic during April 1945, in May 1945 the remnants were dispersed into other SS units.

Given the units inception date I would guess that in reality it was never up to full Divisional strength.

Regards,
Simon

In Kurt Mehner's book "Die Waffen-SS und Polizei 1939-1945" from 1995, a composition and list of commanding officers is provided.

Frans
