R75 Markings?

Post by PVH »

Hi Guys,
Can anyone explain to me the meanings of the various markings on the BMW R75s?
I'm talking about the markings usually on the front of the side car or on the front fender of the motorcycle itsself that look like a circle with an X through it or an upside down Y or a tent shape, etc. I've seen many different ones but can't seem to find an explanation of their individual meanings.
Thanks again,
PVH

Hello,

These markings are of two different types (there are more but basically)
Truppenkennzeichen - unit emblems - divisions, regiments, battalions could have an individual symbol to show that the vehicle belongs to this unit.
taktische Zeichen - tactical markings - shows the type of the company

On my site you can see a collection of units symbols and tactical markings
