Szálasi head of state?

Post by Henrik Andersson »

Arrow cross take over 1944. And Szálasi take over. But was he head of the state? Hungary was a monarchy ruled by a regent.
So was Szálasi formality regent?

Szálasi was "leader of the nation" and Prime Minister, de facto head of state. There was no longer a single regent but a regency-council or state-council. So, he wasn't formally the head of state.
