Gehlen Family publication

Post by Tom Houlihan »

According to E.H. Cookridge, as he writes in Gehlen: Spy of the Century, Reinhard Gehlen's family was involved in the publishing business. His brother was general manager of Ferdinand Hirt and Son, Leipzig. On page 47 of this book, the author made mention of a school atlas published by this company. Apparently, this atlas
showed Austria, Danzig, the Baltic countries, the Sudetenland and large parts of Poland and Yugoslavia, as 'ethnically parts of Germany.' Furthermore, it depicted the Ukraine as 'the natural granary of a new Greater Germany.
This book seems to have been printed in the 1920's. I have no idea what the actual title is. I am curious about this, as this firm seems to have predicted the aims of the Nazis during the war.

I don't suppose anyone might have access to a copy of this atlas? Perhaps a scan-able view? This map must be rather interesting!
