I recently acquired a 14/18 'Hindenburg' Cross mounted on a single-place bar. It had to be dismantled, and underneath the ribbon was a further ribbon on which was mounted the suspension hook. I cannot identify this second ribbon. On one side there are three stripes in the Russian colours of blue, red, white, then a broad central black stripe, then narrow stripes in the German colours white, red, black.
14/18 crosses were instituted in 1934 and continued to be awarded until 1944. This unidentified ribbon could therefore be III Reich or pre-1934. I am inclined to think it is for a pre-1934 veterans medal, although the Kameradschaftsbund Deutscher Ost- u. Westfrontkaempfer medal for Russian front veterans (Niemann 2.02.24 e) has a yellow ribbon with black and green stripes.
Can anyone positively identify this unusual ribbon?

I think it would be easyer to identify it if only you could post some pics. In this case it's simplier to work with images rather then text
