Do the Germans or Austrains have anything similar to remembrance day in canada or veterans day in the US for thier former soldiers of world war 2?

Have a look here Volkstrauertag & Heldengedenktag

This sunday, the 16th, I will be visiting the Volkstrauertag at the German Military Cemetery at Ysselsteyn in the Netherlands.

thank you very much richard, over here we wear the red poppy as remembrance, is anything similar warn over thier during their observation

No, there is nothing similar worn over here.

Here a small impression of the Volkstrauertag from last year, if you need some of this year please let me know (the remembrance begins over just two hours, I will meet several veterans and their family over there).
