Req. for information :UK/US Pilots in Baasrode (Belgium)

Post by Quasimodo »

Hello,

Does anyone have information regarding English or US pilots staying undercover for a couple of days/weeks in Baasrode-Dendermonde (Belgium) in WWII ?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

I haven't got my copy of Saturday in MI9 by Airey Neave handy at the moment, but IIRC the town isn't named as such in there. AFAIK it's the nearest to an official accounting of the business of MI9 and the evasion lines that there is. There may be SOME information in the UK National Archive at Kew. Jimmy Langley's diaries - Neave's boss in MI9 - were published many yeara ago but I haven't been able to track down a copy yet.
