Hi Roger,

My worst nightmare - losing everything on my computer that is. Feldgrau is recoverable.

I am so paranoid that I have Back-Up discs, Back-Up Back-Up discs and Reserve Back-Up Back-Up discs all in different buildings!

Hope nothing is completely irreplaceable.

Commiserations,

Sid.

These things happen to everyone I suppose at sometime.

I have learned now to copy to CD/DVD and I have also
copied to another portable hard drive. Only have to remember
to update monthly.

A first rate backup system:

Have two hard drives (not very expensive these days).

Periodically use a product called "Ghost" to quickly move an image of your working drive to your backup drive. It works in either direction so you can restore quickly in event of an issue.

cheers

Thank guys for the advice. I'm not much of a computer buff so i have my granddaughter read your messages, explain them to me,and help to set up a system, like i said, those damm smart ass kids, but what would we do without them.
PS She enjoys reading some of the comments on FG,she found out there's a lot she didn't know about the wars and were never taught in school. Maybe a new WW2 buff, who knows?
