Angolia's On the Field of Honor

Post by krichter33 »

I was wondering, how come Angolia never finished his series On the Field of Honor for Bender? If anyone knows please let me know. Thanks.

Hello Klaus!

According to Angolia's own introduction in volume 1, this were supposed to be a seven volume series on the Knight's Cross bearers. I don't know why he stopped after the second volume in 1980, he's certainly been productive over the last 25 years when it comes to writing and publishing on german military history.

I'm sorry that I wasn't able to answer you question. These two volumes are rather special to me since they were the first two "specialised" books on the subject that I bought back in the early eighties. Before that, when I was in school, my most priced books were mainly Osprey's Men-at-Arms series...

With best regards,

Thanks for the reply! I know, these books are special to me too. I have them both in first edition, both of them signed by Angolia. They're some of my favorite books from my entire collection.
