An old (very old) veteran of the Tiroler Standschützen

Post by Doktor Krollspell »

I was searching on the Internet about the Tiroler Standschützen and came across this wonderful photograph of a veteran who fought for Kaiser Franz Josef in two wars almost 50 years apart. The source website seems to hold several interesting photographs and such...

But look at the eyes  ....how many years of blinding sun on snow have those bloodshot orbs seen?
