Location of "Obsolete" town name in France

Post by Cameraman »

Hi,

I am looking for the location of a town on the Seine once called "Homyly"...
It appears that Rudolf Brasche was involved in a battle for a bridge there in June 1940
I believe it is an obsolete name...

Google and Google Maps finds NOTHING

as does a query to my cousin, Military History Professor Dr. Lynette Nusbacher...
She seems to think it's a "Transcription Error"...

Is there a location that is very close, perhaps a new name for the place once called "Homyly"...??

Hello, Yes I read also the name Homevyly, maybe it's Romilly sur Seine in the Aube Department.
The town is located at the border with the Marne Department.
The nearest town is named Troyes.
Sorry for my poor english but it's not my native language
Kindly regards
Prosper
