A start would be to just delete/ban any posts written in Cyrillic script?

As you know these sites are only as good as the members who inhabit them. There has to be people to ask questions and more experienced members to answer them. And a "thank you" to those who help should be mandatory. You and Prosper and Tigre, to name a few are keeping things going; we appreciate that. We are facing a spam invasion, which few sites are immune from, and working hard to fix the problem, so bear with us. Best wishes,
Moderator John!!
Hi John,

Out of interest how many Moderators are still active on Feldgrau, We have sadly lost Mark Yerger. What is involved, can we help?

I have considered volunteering us as admins Prosper, to try and purge the spammers but I sadly don't have so much time that I can dedicate it to the forum.
Currently it is too easy for the spammers to gain membership of the forum, not sure why that is but if it continues then there is is nothing to stop this place dying on it's feet.

Hello Simon,
Even the administrator (and new owner) does not answer any more my messages.
Maybe he is irritated because I wanted not to be moderator as he proposed it to me, but I have not time enough. I still be busy with my own forum (in French language) and with my own website (also in French language)
And my knowledge of the English language is not sufficient.
That’s my humble opinion, but it’s a real pity to see all this spam on an excellent forum
Kindly regards
Prosper

Hi Prosper,
I agree, it is a great pity. and perhaps the silence from the owner tells us all we need to know about the future of the forum.

Best wishes my friend,
Simon

A great shame that the admin appears uninterested in the future of Feldgrau, and with the Wehrmacht awards forum appearing to be going the same way, constant problems with access - perhaps these places have run their course?

I didn't know what's going on with "Wehrmacht Awards forum". I am not a member of that forum.
But "Feldgrau forum" is a real pitty.
What are doing the admistrators and the owner???????
When was the latest update???? and why don't bannish the new members when they put spam on line????

Greetings to both citizen Prosper Vandenbroucke and the community as a whole. Howdy Prosper! Well sir, in light of your installment of Thursday - July 05, 2018 - 1:07pm, old yours truly is more than a wee bit curious over the validity of the present Global Moderators listing. I believe that I can say with a high degree of certainty that Mark C. Yerger will not be in a position to address the ongoing spam issue. As far as I know, Mark C. Yerger is deceased. Now, if Mark C. Yerger is deceased, then who else on that listing is also deceased OR no longer associated with the Feldgrau Forum? Needless to say, I have been out of circulation with the Feldgrau Forum for a considerable period of time and I do clearly need to get up to speed with the neighborhood's Sanhedrin. Well, that's my initial two cents worth on this open ended subject of interest - for now anyway. In any case, I would like to bid you an especially copacetic day over in your corner Belgium.

Best Regards,
Uncle Bob  :[]

I sincerely hope that with a site rebuild being promised that the tidy up will also extend to the forum. Feldgrau desperately requires a reboot if it is to stay alive at all.

Good luck JPollar & the Mods!

Greetings to both citizen Simon H. and the community as a whole. Howdy Simon! Well sir, in light of your posting of Monday - July 23, 2018 - 3:04am, old yours truly might be suffering from an inflated sense of optimism, but from what I've seen so far on FELDGRAU.COM, there could very well be a future for this organization. As far as I know, Jim Pollar is doing all of this on his own time and I believe we all need to sit back and allow Jim Pollar to complete his arduous salvaging task. After all, good things come to those that wait. Well, that's my latest two cents worth on this administrative topic of interest - for now anyway, In any case, I would like to bid you an especially copacetic day over in your corner of the British Isles. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN - not to mention everyone else.

Best Regards From the Upstart Colonies,
Uncle Bob   8) :[]
