Heer General Staff Officer Uniform

Post by bigun1_6605 »

Hi,

I am having a discussion (friendly) with a friend on the uniforms of a German General Staff Officer (OKH/OKW). He says that their trousers had a double, broad red stripe like a general officer. I say that based on a picture I saw, the color was darker and the stripes were quite narrow. Were there anyother distinctions to the GS uniform? I think someone said their lapel insignia was different as well as the epaulettes. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Same style of stripes, but in crimson, NOT RED.

German Officers also had piped unifrom trousers, whcih has a single band of piping along outside seam in waffenfarbe.

The technical name of these stripes is "Lampassen".
