Thank you very much for this information! Was the NSU the only pro-German yought organisation in Danmark during the war?
Are you a 100 % sure this isn't a NSU-uniform? I think this picture was taken in 1944, and uniforms can change during the war.

Hello Stormman

As far as I know the NSU was alone. A sister organisation
the NSUP (Piger - Girls) was created alongside, besides those two
I don´t think any other NS youth organisations were formed.

Various political parties had their own youth organisations too.
The Conservatives had KU, Social Democrats the DSU.
Remember the Danish Political scene was pretty free and split
in the first years of occupation. The army was still ACTIV .
The Communist party was not banned before 1943.
And at this point the tide had turned and Denmark was now fighting
a diplomatic battle to come over on allied side, with the help from
the resistance movement(s).

About the uniform... I could be wrong but I don't think it is NSU.

Hello Stormman and Waleed!

While the linked photographs doesn't look like Danish N.S.U. members, there were also other youth, or "youth-like" organizations in Denmark. In the Schleswig are of southern Denmark there existed the NSDAP-N as in -Nordschleswigs. Their equivalent to the german mother party's strong arm units like the SA and the SS was the S.K. - the Schleswigische Kameradschaft. They also had a youth organization, the D.J.N. - the Deutsche Jugendschaft Nordschleswig and also the D.M.D. - the Deutsche Mädchenschaft Nordschleswig. Source: David Littlejohn "Foreign Legions of the Third Reich - Vol. 1 Norway, Denmark, France" (1979).

Although I don't recognize the collar tabs...

Found a bit on Ove Larsen, N.S.U. Landspropagandaleder.

According to "Haralds" diary Larsen and 6 others (Danish S.A. and N.S.U men) on Unterscharführer Mads Bechs orders, were involved in the beating up of fellow SS-volunteer "Kristensen" which resulted in his death the following day. This was after a quarrel on the shooting range earlier on the day September 3rd. 1941. Harald mentions it in his diary the following day. On the 13th. Bech and the one who inflicted the fatal injuries were both sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison... AFTER the war ENDS!!! And were sent off to the eastern front immediately. The 6 others are cleared (including Ove Larsen I presume).

"Harald" is an alias for a volunteer in Frikorps Danmark. The book and diary is:
"Dagbog fra østfronten - En dansker i Waffen-SS 1941-44"
By Claus Bundgård Christensen, Niels Bo Poulsen & Peter Scharff Smith - Aschehoug 2005.
ISBN 87-11-11808-3

Not finished reading it yet, so if I come across Ove again I'll post more info.
