Why are people still biased against Italy ?

Why are people still biased against Italy claiming that the Italians were only a burden for Germany ? Is it because the only thing they know about Italy's role in WWII is what they have seen on Allo,Allo ,although there are several books showing a realistic image of Italy in WWII ( I am thinking on J.Sadkovich )

Once I heard there was a saying about the Italian tanks during the war: they had one gear forward and four backwards!

Have a look at American tanks when they first came to Tunisia.

Many of the American tanks in the early stages of Torch were WW1 vintage.
