Hello
Do You know any memoires of soliders from "second line" like:
- soliders from "korocks", sicherung div., Feldgendarmiere, geheime Feldpolizei;
- Sanitätssoldaten or Krankenträgers;
- Troß (Feldköche, Fahrers, Rechnungsführer, butchers, bakers etc.);
- Hiwis or Ostbatalion/legionen members

Thanks in advance

Hi,
Janek I've seen some time ago this book in Poland: ,,Wojna i medycyna. Wspomnienia niemieckiego chirurga z frontu wschodniego". I'm looking for this memory: Hans Juergen Stein ,,Mein Tagebuch Ostfront 1945". Anybody saw it or heard about it? Sadly nothing on abebooks.

Cheers

An addition:

Heinrich Haape: Endstation Moskau, Tagebuch eines Front-Arztes
copyright 1980 by Motorbuch Verlag Stuttgart
The first version of this book was published in Great Britain, in English, in 1957 as "Moscow Tramstop" by William Collins Sons & Co. Ltd. Last time I saw it offered on Ebay was about 5 years ago so perhaps not readily available in English anymore. Great read and numerous photos

Hellmuth Frey's diary/letters of life as the supply officer with DAK/PzAOK Afrika in 1941-42.

http://www.amazon.de/Rommels-Panzer-dur ... 218&sr=8-1

A first-rate account of life in Africa. Despite being in the Tross rather than infantry/armour, Frey presents a really good picture of life at the front, aftermath of battle and a few insights into working with Rommel.

I got a copy of "Moscow Tram Stop" for $60 from using search engine. English copy, came from a German book dealer. Unbelievable after all these years of hunting to get a copy and at that price. Earlier this year I got a paperback copy of "Invisible Flag". Darn I am on a roll. Trying to figure what I should go after next. Any suggestions?
