Just to keep you informed and let you know that I have not croaked yet. :D .

I don't think anyone here would, or even could, have thought you were after a "poor Haen response" Hugo, you really are an amazing man and I hope you don't "croak" for a long time.

Best regards,

I'm sure most of us didn't take it that way.

That's good to hear. Please keep us informed if you can.

While I haven't always agreed with you you have been a terrific source of information and a resource that will be missed on the boards you have frequented.

Again I wish you the best, hopefully things will improve both medially and "officially".

Sadly our friend Dr. Hugo Neyenhuis died just before midnight on May 8th in Portland, Oregon. Hugo believed that he was the last surviving member of the 34th SS Freiwilligen Division "Landstorm Nederland".

I am sure that our friend and good comrad Hugo is on his last march to join the Große Armee and I know he will reserve a good
place for his friends.
I remember when he used to say that old soldiers don't die, they just smell like that.

R.I.P. dear friend

This is very sad to hear indeed. He was a lovely man who loved to help and contribute to this forum (and others). We emailed a lot over the years about the area of my expertise (Battle of Arnhem) and shared some great information. We cannot live forever but we can be remembered forever more. Thanks Hugo for your contributions and may you RIP.

So long, Huug. It was grand chatting with you, and listening to your reminiscing.

My condolences to his friends and family. A real character and razor sharp wit for his age. He will be sadly missed.

Kind Regards,
Simon
