Goodbye

Post by haen2 »

Hello fellow forum members,
I just got interrogated for about an hour about my military service in and after WWII.
It seems that somebody has been giving out half truth information, about my involvements.
I think that it therefor will be wise to quit all forums, to prevent this happening again.
Thank you for your interaction, and remember there are three sides to all stories: yours, mine and the facts.
I am in late stages of metastasized cancer, so I am at peace with it.
Greetings from Portland Oregon,

Haen, I can only echo Leo's thanks with my own, and everyone on the management team's, for all the efforts you have put in over the years here and elsewhere.

I will be sorry to see you leave :( And even more sorry for the how of it...

Huug, I will definitely miss having you around. I'm sorry that you are leaving, but that reason makes it even worse.

My last name identifies me as a German-American. My paternal grandfather, father and I all served in the U.S. Armed Forces in defense of our country. My German ancestors arrived in America in 1752. I have encountered prejudice all my life from people who considered me a "Nazi" because of my last name. Well, then if that is their opinion then I will let them continue with their ridiculous idea. Haen, don't give up the fight!

Let me know who the turkey is that is giving you such a hard time, and I will harrass that sob with no mercy from here on in.

As I've stated elsewhere I'm sorry to hear that you will no longer be posting. Even sorrier to hear about your medical problems. I wish you the best.

My impression was it was the civil authorities that were questioning him. I suspect it relates to some of the recent war crimes trials. Someone got a bee under their bonnet and decided to investigate any possible candidate using a very broad defnition of "possible". I think Haen was fully capable of tellilng some internet annoyance where he could put it.

So if someone who is an immigrant has become a citizen of the United States of America, does that mean that that immigrant who was born elsewhere might never really have a chance to be considered to be a citizen of first class like those who were born here? So very cool, and good to know ....

hello People,
Not posting, does n ot mean not looking. So, thank you very much for all the positive comments.
IF and WHEN I would reeive an all clear from the justice dept.\, I might just come back. If I am still alive by then; because cancer has metastasized further, but withh new Oral chemo therapy also has slowed down.
so, who knows. As for fully being a citizen, I always though I was one. Perhaps i was wrong. :-( :(
Oh well.. H.N.

p.s. to my last post.
Mentioning the progress or lack thereof, is not meant to solicit "poor Haen" responses.
Just to keep you informed and let you know that I have not croaked yet. :D .
Live long and prosper !
