If I am not mistaken, those are AFV or gun codes. For example, "C2" is a Mk IV (long) and a P is a 75mm PAK.

Re: MS D-230 15th SS Ops in Pomerania
Its possible that the second part didnt get microfilmed as part of the M1035 microfilm series - in which case it will be at NARA in one of the boxes.

Re: 163rd Marineschutzen Regiment..War Diary, Veterans, Archives
Alan, most field command documents after July 1944 were destroyed in an air raid. Do you know one way or another if records of this unit still exist ? NARA, or BAMA may some records, but I am not familiar with KM records. The British may also have some captured records, but I know little about their...

Re: US AB division structure
Rich, I sincerely hope you already had that information in a file, and didnt spend 2 hours typing it in ! Aaiieee ! Thanks very much for the info. This should be more than enough to nail the questions that I had....except for this one: Were glider infantry given special airborne training, or were th...

US AB division structure
I am looking to establish the detailed TOE structure of a US airborne division for autumn 1944, (Europe). Usually I go to Stanton, but the entires for Chart 5 (AB division) and Chart 8 (AB regts and btls.) seem to contradict each other. Is there another good source of information ?

Re: 1560 Art. Regt, 560 VG in the Ardennes
There is a possibility that BAMA has records of the 560th VGD for the time period, but I dont know for sure. I dont have the index files. US corps records for the time period might also contain some information.

Re: 1560 Art. Regt, 560 VG in the Ardennes
There are 2 Foreign Military Series documents that cover the 560th during that time period; FMS-B-024 and B-027.

Captured German documents
If you read G-2 periodic reports of US divisions and corps, you will often run into references and translations of captured German documents. Does anyone know if these captured documents were sent to some sort of central repository ? I am not talking about the RG242 material, but individual or small...

Re: Feldpost# request
it appears that not all sources agree. Oh well, whats new.
Lexicon says EuA.Btl.489 --> I/1223. T78 R424 says it became part of I/1222 and I/1221. EuA 4989 doesnt have a FP # on the Lexicon entry, but neither do EuA47 and 65.

Re: Feldpost# request
Yes, that would make sense. The EuA Rgts of Div.Nr.180 were converted to gren.rgts in Oct/Nov. I would guess then the unit in question was part of EuA Rgt.269., and furthermore EuA Btl. 489 or 16 (see T78 R424).
So many little mysteries.
Thanks very much everyone.

Re: Feldpost# request
Where the document is situated in the series of pages would lead me to believe it is an infantry unit, although I cannot be remotely sure. I think the FP is related to 2.Kp./Btl.Fastenau, KG v.Borstel (Div.Nr.180, oct 1944):

Feldpost# request
In a set of BAMA records I just received for Div.Nr.180, I found a reference to a FP #30 161 E. I think this is an infantry unit given the information in the records, but it is not identified by a #, just a commanding officer. I looked through some entries on the Lexicon, but did not find a match. I...
