Hi guys.. Simon, Ventilation was what I 1st thought, however Vents normally went straight up ( with a kink to stop grenades being dropped down ) and those holes dont connect onto any type of living space, and certainly the bottom ones wouldnt of been used for cookers etc... Either side of the door on the left, ive noticed them on other bunker faces though not always as big

Thx Geoff and Ratdog Ive seen so many black and white pictures of A/T guns but hardly any colour images.. and the ones I have seen never had the red-brown blotches.. Its funny I was watching a Video I have previously taped from the History channel concerning the battle of the bulge, A collection of waffen-SS guys walked past the camera man and everyone of them had a camo scheme on there blanket roll..The same pattern that was on there smocks Now I know its not 1...

They are 20mm by Britannia miniatures heres a url of one of them..not the officers..didnt want to paint them until I sorted this riddle out.. As you can see the camo aint quite right but as its only 20mm its ok. I never thought about cutting/scraping the boards off...that would be easy enough.. prob...

Thanks guys for replying.. I just had another long look though my books and found no pics or any mention of shoulder boards on smocks.. But like Charlie said, nothing stopping an Officer taking the iniative and doing it himself... I may paint them as shoulder boards, to try and paint them as the res...

Hi All Could blanket rolls issued to the Waffen-SS have had a camo pattern, or were they only grey... actually what colours can a blanket roll be?
