Subhas Chandra Bose member of Waffen-ss?

Subhas Chandra Bose founded the Indian Legion that fought for the Germans. In fact, he was also commander in chief. The Legion became a part of Waffen-ss in 1944. Does that mean that Bose was formally a member of Waffen-ss?

Cuba sent hospital to the Westfront?

Cuba declared war in Germany in the spring of 1917. German and Austrian citizens who were in Cuba were put in prison. But Cuba should have sent a hospital to the West Front with doctors and nurses of about 100 people.
Does anyone know more about this hospital?

Japan participated in World War I. But Japan never sent troops to Europe. But some Japanese should have been volunteers in the French Air Force. Does anyone know anything about these volunteers?
