A great actor indeed! I first saw him in "A Bridge Too Far" (1977) when he played Willi Bittrich against all the alllied movie stars.
He played many memorable roles in so many films (other than Hauptmann Stransky, that is!)...

Servus Helmut, The main difference between the DK in Gold and the DK in Silber was that the Gold version basically were awarded for combat performance, or for that matter staff duties at the front lines.
